Aura Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 October 2026.
These terms apply to the Aura app ("Aura"), made by Alexis Thomas and published by Prismo Labs Ltd, Unit 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, Poole BH16 6FA, United Kingdom ("we"). By using Aura you agree to them. If you got Aura from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms add to it rather than replace it.
Aura is a journal, not a treatment
Aura is a place to write down how you feel. It is not therapy, medical care or a crisis service, and its notes, questions and letters — including the ones written by AI — are not professional advice. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a helpline right away; Aura shows helplines for your country in Settings → "If things feel too heavy", and whenever something you write suggests you might need them.
Your journal
What you write is yours. It is stored on your device (see the Privacy Policy), so keeping it safe — with a backup, and with the lock in Settings if others use your device — is up to you. We can't recover pages from a lost or erased device unless you made a backup.
Notes written by AI
With "Notes from the cats" on, some replies are written by an AI model (Google's Gemini). They are generated automatically, can be wrong or miss the point, and don't reflect the views of any person. Don't rely on them for decisions about your health, safety, money or relationships.
Aura Plus
- Aura Plus is an optional subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown before you confirm, in your local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account (or Google account) when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends. If you started a free trial, cancelling before it ends means you won't be charged.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your device's subscription settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- Aura's free features — checking in, your pages, the cats, hard-day support, backups and export — stay free.
- We may change what Plus includes or its price; a price change for an existing subscription only applies after the store tells you about it, as its rules require.
Fair use
Don't misuse Aura or its services: no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer our server, to get around Aura Plus, or to use the AI features for anything unlawful or harmful. We may limit the AI features (for example how many replies a day) to keep them available for everyone.
Ours
The app, its drawings (the cats included), its words and its code belong to us or our licensors. You may use Aura for yourself; you may not copy, sell or redistribute it or its artwork.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Aura running, but some features need an internet connection and may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change or remove features. Without a connection, Aura keeps working with its own offline notes.
Liability
Aura is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data you didn't back up, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Aura Plus in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in the EU or elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and may bring claims there.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and mention it in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Aura after that means you accept the new terms.
